Dental Bridges

To replace a missing tooth that has neighbouring teeth with decay and/or large fillings, or a tooth that has been missing for a long time (i.e., with gum recession around the area), we recommend bridges as opposed to dental implants.

Types of Bridges:

Types of Bridges:

  • Traditional — Caps are bonded over teeth that lie on either side of the missing one
  • Cantilever — Cap is bonded over a single tooth next to the missing one
  • Resin-bonded — Porcelain or plastic teeth with gums that are supported by metal “wings”

Porcelain or Composite Veneers

If you’re looking to cosmetically correct or enhance the appearance of one or more teeth, we suggest veneers. They are very thin, porcelain or resin shells that you can customise in colour and shape. They are non-invasive and are resistant to future stains.

Common uses for veneers:

  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Misshapen or irregular teeth
  • Teeth that do not respond to traditional whitening treatments

Dental Implants Banyo

Undoubtedly the best method of replacing a missing tooth, implants involve the surgical placement of a titanium screw-like fixture into the jawbone. After the bone has healed around it, a crown is attached to the implant to provide your replacement tooth. Implants can also be used to support bridges and to help dentures remain in place.

At Banyo Dental, our experienced dentists provide the dental Implants, crown, bridge, or denture on the implant(s) for you. Get in touch with our team on 07 32675473 to book your implant consultation with Dr Singh. In this comprehensive implant consultation, Dr Singh will take x-ray of your tooth, check the suitability for placing implant, discuss different options for replacing missing tooth, associated cost and timeframe.

Dental implants are a fixed long-term solution for missing teeth. Your dental implants can last longer with proper oral hygiene, avoiding smoking and seeing your dentist regularly for dental check-ups.

Full or Partial Dentures

Less costly than implants and bridges, dentures can be used where implants and bridges are impractical or unaffordable.

Full dentures involve replacement of all teeth on an upper and/or lower jaw. Full dentures rely on suction with your gums, cheeks and lips and rely on the presence of a ridge on your jawbone. Patients who had their teeth extracted a long time ago can often lose that ridge, making the wearing of a full denture very difficult and necessitating the use of adhesives like Polident. Implants can be used to help hold dentures in place in situations where extra help in holding onto a denture is required.

Existing dentures Can Be Modified

  • Full dentures that have become loose can sometimes be relined.
  • Partial dentures can also be relined for comfort, can have new clasps added onto them for additional tightness and can also have new teeth added to them should more teeth require removal after the denture has been provided.
  • Worn teeth can sometimes be replaced on the same denture base.

Immediate Tooth Replacement Options

In the ideal world, any tooth that was to be replaced after an extraction would be placed well after the extraction healing has completed. However, we are aware that this isn’t always practical, especially in the case of teeth that are visible in the smile line.

Immediate replacements can be undertaken for all replacement options:

  • Implants
  • Dentures
  • Crowns
  • Bridges
